DESCRIPTION:Architecture of the Body – Yoga Workshop Series \n \nArchitecture of the body yoga series is a dive into the physical body where you will discover new movement pattens\, get clear on what we are doing in the key foundational poses\, what should be activated along with a greater understanding of effort and ease (sthira & sukha) in your yoga practice\, this series will seriously enhance how you practice Yoga.\n \nTogether we will explore a deeper connection with the physical body through enquiry\, practice and discussion.  Each session will sequentially build the body temple.\n \nYou will learn\n\nHow to activate and embody new movement patterns\nHow to adjust the distribution of weight and move the forces efficiently through your body \nKey foundational yoga poses what their key functions are and how to perform them optimally.\nEssential anatomical landing points so that you can better understand teaching ques and alignment principles.\nWhat variations of these poses are best suitable to your body\n\n \nWho is this for\n\nLoving your yoga but want to gain a better understanding on how to perform the posture more comfortably?\nSome poses are a challenge on your physically and want to know which variations you should take?\nNot quite getting some poses\, not sure what you are suppose to be doing?\nMaybe your newish to yoga and want to know more?\n\n \nArchitecture of the Body will increase your confidence of the basic asanas as well as give your great insight into how to evolve your yoga practice.   This is your opportunity to be at one with your body\, to be present\, aware and accepting of how your body moves and grooves. Getting the most out of your yoga classes and keep your body mobile so that your can live your life with greater ease. \n \nWithin each of these sessions\, we will explore key anatomy anchor points\, the yogic wisdom behind why these points are relevant within your yoga practice this is done though the process of enquiry\, demonstration\, touch and builds on alignment principles to enhance their yoga practice and elevate it to the next level. \n \nWorking for individual workshops \n \n‘Feet the Foundation’ Saturday 14th September 1pm till 3pm \nIt’s the feet that move us forward in life\, and as we journey to know the physical body through bone\, tissue\, cells\, begins with the feet.  Our general stability and support are found in the bones and connective tissue of the feet\, they help regulate our nervous system\, increase circulation and improve respiration.\n \nThe feet are our foundation and they provide structural organisation for the entire body\, if there is one session you need to attend its FEET.\n \n‘Pivotal Pelvis’ Saturday 28th September 1pm till 3pm\nThe pelvis is the main point in the body that provides balance and support for the trunk\, its mis-alignment in yoga is the main culprit for leaving class with an achy lower back. The bowl of the pelvis is a complex structure that takes time to master but being aware of its capabilities and exploring its movement in key asanas will give you a greater understanding of how to stand tall\, balance and reduce the effort that your body needs to remain stable.\n \nThe pelvis is the key structure for balancing forces through the whole architecture of the body.\n \n‘Core Connection’ Saturday 12th October 1pm till 3pm \n\nWe loose awareness of our bellies and when that happens we loose connection with the vital core.  Its from this very centre of our beings that we initiate movement and that is why it is so prized in both yoga and Ayurveda it even has its own practices\, uddiyana bandha\, agni sara. This is your power centre which for most of us we simply give away\, harnessing the power of your core through navel radiation will be a revelation to your practice. We therefore recommend that you travel and experience the country if you can\, either before or after the retreat. Here is a website that gives you an idea of other places that you might like to include in your trip; The 15 Best Destinations in Thailand \n\n\nGetting There\nKoh Samui has its own airport and the easiest way to travel to the island is by flying from London via Bangkok as your stop-over\, then from Bangkok to Koh Samui. Another route is via Singapore. There are many airlines that fly to Koh Samui from London and the flights cost roughly in the region of £500 – £700. \nYoga Practice Sessions\nMornings\nYoga will begin at around 7.30 am\, there will be an alignment based vinyasa flow class taught by either Rosemary or Brigitte with the other assisting. We will then have a hearty breakfast/brunch buffet. \nEvenings\nOur second yoga class of the day will be in the late afternoon around 5.00 pm and is for all levels of yogi including beginners. You can expect all aspects of yoga\, such as restorative yoga\, yin yoga\, meditation\, satya somatics yoga\, technique/therapeutics class\, yoga nidra and breath work. \n*Yoga basic classes\nWe are aware that this wonderful holiday may attract couples or friends\, whereby one half is a beginner yogi\, or would prefer to practice at a more basic level. Whilst the price of the holiday will remain the same to yogi’s and non yogis alike\, we are therefore offering ‘yoga basics’ classes every morning which will also begin at 7.30 am. They can be quickly be opened through cardiovascular exercise or they can become closed and restricted due to states of tension and fear. Autumn is the time to nourish our lungs as they are susceptible to infiltration. We will gently expand the sails of our lungs in this yoga practice to improve circulation\, and build defences. \n🍁1.00pm – 2.00pm – Wholesome Plant based Lunch\nSharing food has been a way to connect and enjoy each other’s company for millennium and I am very pleased to welcome back the very talented Jenny who delicately creates delicious wholesome food that will nourish you from the inside. (This is a lifesaving practice for the lungs\, it’s one of those practice that once you have experienced it you will use again and again – after I had the corona virus I used this practice for 3 months\, it was perfect for my healing and I believe a big contributing part of why I did not suffer any long covid symptoms) \n🍁2.30pm – 4pm – Yin Yoga for Immunity\nWithin this yin yoga practice we will look to stimulate the flow of prana/Qi that flows to the heart and lungs. Prana is the basic life force of the body. DESCRIPTION: ‘Light of Awareness’ Yoga and Spa Retreat\nSaturday 29th May – Saturday 5th June 2021\nThis could just be the retreat of your dreams\, here we have a stunning boutique retreat hotel all to ourselves and set within a magical desert landscape. Tigmi is tucked away from the hubbub of Marrakesh on the outskirts of a traditional Moroccan Berber village and will redefine your idea of relaxation. Set in the foothills of the atlas mountains and 30 minutes drive from Marrakesh\, here you will find meandering corridors and courtyard paths lead to twenty-four authentically-furnished\, comfortable rooms. You’ll enjoy plunge pools\, secret terraces\, charming gardens and a myriad of quiet corners in which to read and recharge as well as a fully equipped\, traditional\, Moroccan spa offering an array of treatments\, from a traditional Moroccan Ham-mam to a relaxing massage\, for the days that you want to just sit back and relax. \nThe first impression of Tigmi is of a lovely garden laid to lawns and paths\, with banana palms\, citrus and olive trees and a swimming pool with soft\, jade-coloured water. The scents and colours of orange blossom and roses assail the senses. Fifteen tortoises live in this garden\, adding to the unhurried feel of this tranquil oasis. There are also two swimming pools\, one of which is heated to 26 degrees throughout the year with sun- beds around the pool as well as plenty of shaded areas in the gardens\, that are furnished with comfortable divans for those of you who prefer to lounge around out of the sun. \nYoga\nThere are two yoga spaces. A covered roof terrace with stunning views of Marrakesh across the plains and an indoor room that is light and airy (and with a log burner for cooler days). \nMornings\nYoga will begin at around 8.00 am\, there will be an alignment based vinyasa flow class taught by either Rosemary or Brigitte with the other assisting. We will then have a hearty breakfast. \nEvenings\nOur second yoga class of the day will be in the late afternoon around 5.00 pm and is for all levels of yogi including beginners. You can expect all aspects of yoga\, such as restorative yoga\, yin yoga\, meditation\, satya somatics yoga\, technique/therapeutics class\, yoga nidra and breath work. \n*Yoga basic classes\nWe are aware that this wonderful yoga holiday may attract couples or friends\, whereby one half is a beginner yogi\, or would prefer to practice at a more basic level. Whilst the price of the holiday will remain the same to yogi’s and non yogis alike\, we are therefore offering ‘yoga basics’ classes every morning which will also begin at 8.00 am. These classes will be taught by Brian Riley (Brigitte’s husband) and are optional. \nMeals\nAll meals are prepared in the newly fitted kitchens by master-chef Brahim and combine the best of Moroccan and French cuisine. Seasonal produce is delivered daily\, fish can be requested and comes fresh to the hotel from the Atlantic. \nBreakfast –  This will be served after our morning class and consists of mouth watering homemade juices\, honey\, yoghurts\, pancakes\, cheeses\, locally made flat breads\, fresh fruit and cereals. \nLunch – There will be a delicious colourful buffet salad daily.. \nDinner – All of our evening meals are traditionally vegetarian North African and French dishes. Fish can be requested. \nAccommodation\nThe bedrooms are authentically Moroccan with generous\, comfortable beds\, cool sheets\, hand-woven covers and cushions\, large bathrooms and a traditional seated area\, which can double as extra sleeping-space. \nMany of the bedrooms have fireplaces and private terraces. \nThings to do\nThe day can be spent lazing Moroccan-style: lounging\, reading or swimming in one of the two pools\, playing backgammon or chess in one of the many gardens and courtyards or popping into Marrakesh using the hotel’s free mini-bus service. \nTigmi also has its own ha-mam\, spa treatments and massage therapists on hand. \nThere are a few bicycles available for the more energetic to explore the local area. \nOutside of Tigmi there are local sporting activities such as horse riding and golf. Cultural treats are plentiful with mosques\, museums\, a visit to the famous square Jemaa el Fna with its acrobats\, dancers and magicians\, the Majorelle Gardens and the grove of 150\,000 palm trees at La Palmeraie. A visit to one of the souks in Marrakesh’s old city is an art form in itself\, with busy market stalls and colourful displays of the traders’ wares – local crafts\, satins\, silks\, glittery shoes\, leather wares\, paintings\, spices and food.
