What to expect from your ‘Summer Solstice‘ Retreat day
🌞10.20am – Arrive, settle and claim your space
🌞10.30am – 12.45am – ‘Finding balance in this changing world’
To honour the summer solstice, we will begin by establishing our inner equilibrium and bringing a sense of balance. You’ll receive a unique and intelligently sequenced somatic movement practice followed by a dynamic practice that bring balance to the body and mind.
In our practice together we will explore ways in which we can take support to find our balance in an unstable world. You will find many parallels between the techniques used for physically balancing in our body and finding balance in your life.
This session will be playful and culminate with a workshop style approach to balance whether that be on your feet, hands or even head, all safely supported and guided skillfully.
We close our playful time with a cooling pranayama and a meditation that harnesses our Summer Solstice energy.
🌞1.00pm – 2.30pm – Wholefood Delicious Sunday Lunch
Sharing food has been a way to connect and enjoy each other’s company for millennium and I am very pleased to welcome back the very talented Jenny who delicately creates delicious wholesome food that will nourish you from the inside. Jenny’s food is so tasty, delicious and all natural, easily digestible and plantbased. I could eat Jen’s food everyday
There will also be time to enjoy one another’s company, relax and simply enjoy being amongst friends.
🌞2.30pm – 3.00pm – Walking Meditation
A traditional Buddhist practice, meditating while walking is a way to get the mind to be present and to bring a relaxed focus. It’s amazing how accessible this practice is and how different we feel when paying attention to what’s going on around us rather than what’s swirling in our head.
🌞3.00pm – 4.30pm – Yin Yoga for the Heart of Summer
Yin yoga is the perfect complementary practice to a busy summer calendar, helping to really restore and balance our energy by encouraging us to turn inwards and towards stillness to counteract the late nights, long days, and lust for life that summer carries with it.
According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the season of summer is associated with the element of Fire and the organs of the heart and small intestine.
The heart is considered as the “king” of the organs for the vital role it plays in controlling our circulation and distribution of blood, and the consequent dependence of all other organs on it for good health.
Think cooling calming, heart open, resting and restoring.
This day will leave you:
- Experience a sense of cool, calm and grounded
- You’ll feel like you have been nourished on all levels
- Reenergised, with an open heart
- Recharge and re-claim your mojo and support your wellness
- Positively alive and radiant
The venue is a large airy space that is well ventilated, numbers are restricted so that you all have ample safe space around you.
This means that the event has limited numbers and only full payment will reserve your place.
Spend time in community who holds dear the values of non-judgement, support and kindness which are integral to creating this healing space, a day inspired by pure self-care.
Summer loving to you all 🌞
I look forward to welcoming you, love Rosemary 🌺
